Off to Hang Zhou!

After more than a week of coughing and blowing our noses, I am glad to report that Will and I are almost fully recovered .  I can't tell you how great it feels to get my energy back; I hate feeling like a zombie or not being able to taste my food.

Thus, today we plan to take either a bus or train to Hang Zhou and meet up with my D.C. "Wu-mate" Elaine for the weekend!  Hopefully I will snap some photos to end this photo drought.

I do apologize for the lack of sufficient updates -- due to various reasons --on my research and time here in Shanghai.  My days typically include the following:  encountering red tape at a university, surveying students, eating meals at various restaurants in a department store, lots of walking and sweating, watching either "Naruto" or "Lois and Clark," and reading the Shanghai Daily and New York Times online.

I try reading the Houston Chronicle online for updates on Houston, but the pitiful website offers little more than "exciting" tidbits on the Andrea Yates trial, crime reports, "juicy" gossip that doesn't interest me, and other articles that sadly pass for "news."  Can any Houstonians give me the inside scoop on what's really worth hearing about in Houston?  I'd greatly appreciate it .
